Real Club de Golf Sotogrande
Sotogrande, one of the oldest golf clubs, was inaugurated in 1964 and is still considered as one of the ten best courses in Europe. He is called "the old", to distinguish him from his younger neighbour Valderrama. The concept is from Robert Trent Jones. The club is private, although guests who pay Green Fee are always welcome. But telephonic registration is advisable. For reason of the 30th birthday Sotogrande got his royal firstname. The facility offers an ample vegetation with pines, oaks, eucalyptus and palms; Water obstacles come into the game at hole 12, 13, 14 and 16, 17, 18 and let the place appear longer than 6,250 m. For those, who don´t want to play the full 18 holes, a “nine-hole-course” (Par 3) is available.
