Club de Golf Valderrama

Valderrama is a golf course with 6,356m and par 71. Thanks to the design of one of the leading golf course architects, Rober Trent Jones Senior, the course can be played by every level. The exercise area near the club house was described by Nick Faldo as the best one in Europe. Since then the facility became more famous and is meanwhile the number-1 golf course in Europe. Since 1989 the Volvo of Masters take place in the Club de Golf Valderrama, the leading championships of the PGA European Tour. 1997 even the 32th Ryder Cup took place, which was won by Europe in a packing final. Thus Valderrama is the only club outside of the traditional golf countries USA and England, in which such top level events take place. 1999 and 2000 the first two expenditures of the World Golf Championships - American Express Championship took place, which were won by Tiger Woods and Mike Weir. Thus Valderrama is the epitome of the golf haven here to the Costa del Sol.
