Puerto Banus

Puerto BanusPuerto Banús is a marina in Marbella, Spain on the Costa del Sol, which was built in the year 1970 by José Banús, a local property developer, as a luxury marina and shopping complex for the jet-set and the super rich. It has berths for 915 boats, for yachts up to 70 meters long, including those of the King of Saudi Arabia and several of the world's wealthiest individuals. Behind the harbour lie streets filled with bars, elegant boutiques and nightclubs which represents the center of the night life of the Costa del Sol. Behind the main square is a vast El Corte Inglés department store.

Although the superstars have moved to more private destinations, visitors to Puerto Banus tend to be extremely wealthy tourists from northern Europe, especially the UK and Germany, and Arabs as well as holiday-making Spaniards and Puerto Banus is still a meeting place of the "beauties and riches".
